Double Screw Wear Check Sheet
Below is the procedure to check the wear of you double screw and housing in your Vemag or H&S model AC stuffers.
Step 1:
Make sure screw & housing are clean.
Step 2:
Place screw & housing on level surface or slide into machine.
Step 3:
Push the housing all the way in until it stops then pull back out 2 inches.
Step 4:
Slide screw in housing until 2 inches are sticking out of housing (fig A).
Step 5:
Rotate screws until there is material at the 12 o'lock position, push the screws in until they are flush with the front of housing.
Step 6:
Using a standard set of feeler gauges check the gap at the 12 o clock position (fig B).
Step 7:
Repeat for opposite side, record measurements.
